Installation

WBFSSync does not require installation to work, although it is build under Microsoft .NET Frameword and requires it to work, you can download the .NET Framework from Microsoft's page or using the link on the "Home" page of this project.

After downloading the latest release from the "Downloads" page it's just extract the content to a new folder and it's ready to go.

The program will require Administrator access to work properly, in Windows Vista and Seven a UAC window may pop-up.

Main Window

Operations

WBFFSync uses a Windows-Explorer-like interface so it must be intuitive most of the time...

For now, WBFSSync can Cut/Paste, Copy, Delete, Rename, Scrub (Compress) and Unscrub (Decompress) Games from both normal and WBFS filesystems and enqueue them as needed, keep in mind a few things:
  • 1. Due to a full redesign of the operations system, WBFSSync will not ask if you want to replace a file, it will just replace.
  • 2. There are quick and slow operations in the program, consider the quick ones "Delete" and "Rename", and the slow all the rest. Only the slow operations will be enqueued, if you try to delete or rename a game in use it will fail. If you are doing an operation in a WBFS drive and try to delete or rename any game in it, the operation will also fail because the program locks WBFS for one operation at a time.

Supressing Windows 'Format Disk X: (for version >= 2.0.04)

WBFSSync can close automatically this window if you configure it (tested only in windows seven RC), to activate the function follow these steps:

*Open the wbfssync.ini and search for a line that contains "FormatWindowCancelText = "Cancelar"", if it does not exists add it right below the "NoFormatWindow" line.
*Replace the value "Cancelar" by the cancel button text of the Disk Formatting Window, remember to keep the quotation marks on the value or WBFSSync can't read it.
*Run WBFSSync and open the "Configurations" tab (using the "Organize" button, or by clicking on the third icon from right to left on the main toolstrip).
*Check the option "Close Disk Formatting Window", Apply.

Done, every time you connect a non-formatted drive with WBFSSync open it will close the Formatting Window. Keep in mind that this will supress this window every time while the program runs.

Console Application

WBFSSync provides a simple console application that allow access to WBFS functions via text, and a few debug related tools that should not be used or they may cause corruption of the data on your WBFS drive.

Important Notes:
-Depending on your level of access, windows may lock access to external drives, you must guarantee that the console is running as administrator in these situations.
-Some parameters like paths or composite names (separated by spaces) must be put inside quotation marks.

The slow operations will make the console refresh every second in the following format

Line Containing Source File
Line Containing Destination File
Line Containing Progress in Percentage

Here are the list of the functions with description:

listgames DRIVE
description: lists all games in a wbfs drive
DRIVE must be the letter of the wbfs drive i.e. X or the full string: X:\

FILE is the source game file in iso or syncscrub formats

extract DRIVE GAMECODE FILE -S
description: extracts a game from a wbfs drive (DRIVE) to a iso or syncscrub file (FILE)
DRIVE must be the letter of the wbfs drive i.e. X or the full string: X:\
GAMECODE is the exclusive 6 digit code of the wii game
FILE is the destination game file, extensions are not put automatically
-S is an optional parameter, it will make the output be a syncscrub file instead of an iso

scrub FILEIN FILEOUT -PSX
description: scrubs an iso to a syncscrub format, both files must be in a non-wbfs drive
FILEIN is the iso file to be scrubbed
FILEOUT is the resultant syncscrub file, the extension is not put automatically
-PSX is an optional parameter that allow the user to select what type of partitions will be included in the scrub, it must be in lower case!
-ps0: default, OnlyGamePartition
-ps1: RemoveUpdatePartition
-ps2: AllPartitions

unscrub FILEIN FILEOUT
description: extracts an iso from a scrubbed file, both files must be in a non-wbfs drive
FILEIN is the source syncscrub file
FILEOUT is the destination iso file, the extension is not put automatically

delete DRIVE GAMECODE
description: deletes a game from a wbfs drive
DRIVE must be the letter of the wbfs drive i.e. X or the full string: X:\
GAMECODE is the exclusive 6 digit code of the wii game

rename DRIVE GAMECODE NEWCODE NEWNAME
description: renames and recodes a game inside a wbfs drive
DRIVE must be the letter of the wbfs drive i.e. X or the full string: X:\
GAMECODE is the exclusive 6 digit code of the wii game
NEWCODE is a new 6 digit code, if a game with the same code already exists in the drive, the operation fails
NEWNAME is a new name for the game, 32 characters maximum, if a game with the same name already exists in the drive, the operation fails
